Hi everyone, Studio 3 with our updates for week 3 of development!
Our website has gone over a facelift, we reorganized sections of our webpage to put the most important information first and replace default text and images with relevant descriptions and videos of our product. We moved the blog and purchase information to a different page and cleaned up the main page.
Here are the updates for Melody Grove!
Custom Recording
It's been a 3-week long process, but we have finally integrated custom recording into our app which we are super excited about! It's in its own tab in the inventory UI and users can record up to 18 of their sounds through their phone to include in their sound environments!
Spatial Audio & New Soundtracks
We invested a lot of time this week into audio, creating new sound environments forest (jazzy, danceable) and rainforest (zen, calm). We also spent a lot of time tweaking the Steam AR Audio toolkit to produce the most balanced spatial audio experience. We implemented a way for the audio to be synced up to the same looping phase when played so that you get the best experience hearing all of the sounds layered together.
UI Overhaul
We got a lot of feedback on our UI, mostly areas to improve, so we are excited to announce many dramatic changes in the UI. We no longer have modes, reducing them to play/pause buttons at the bottom of the screen. We also got rid of the cursor, users now directly tap on the surface that they want to place the object at. We patched bugs with certain buttons that led to unresponsive or confusing behavior. Lastly, we created an inventory pop-up where users can preview the audio and also learn about the instrument responsible for it.
Overall we began efforts to make the UI look prettier and less vanilla, adding colors to the placed object UI and also custom icons.
