Hey everyone, Studio 3 here. This week we made much progress on our AR app. We have officially rebranded from Music Space to Melody Grove, an AR app aimed at solving the deficit of composition and sound environment-making in early music education. Our app is themed around plants, where users will be able to create interactive sound "gardens" with our presets as well as their own field recordings. Each unique plant object type plays a certain "cell" of music that can be placed and mixed as desired. We plan on making multiple "packs" of these sounds for people to listen to and play around with.

We've made multiple updates to our website. We've added a section to the page describing our social impact and financial model. We clarified a lot of our branding and product by changing the images to be more relevant and also updating the text content to reflect our app and mission.

As for our financial model, our target is to sell this app to music educators. The base app is free but doesn't contain certain features like additional sound packs, and the ability to save. The app will have a functional "preview" version, but you must buy additional packs separately. To that end, we'll offer deals for students/teachers / and different kinds of bundles.

On the app side of things, we've made many updates to the UI, making it look less cluttered and more intuitive. We focused on the app's user workflow and changed things to make it as smooth as possible. We fleshed out the inventory system, started integrated live recording (though we still need to build the UI), and added multiple new better-sounding loopable tracks. We've added important features like being able to mute/pause the soundscape, edit/delete the objects after they have been placed, and determine the custom paths separately from placing the objects. Being able to edit aspects of the objects such as volume, pitch, looping, and delay allows for a greater degree of customizability. Though it's a little hard to tell from the video, our audio has spatialization, so the objects sound like they are coming from where they are in space.
