Hi, everyone! We are studio 3 and we decided to work on our AR Mobile app for our project. We decided to make an AR app tentatively called Music Space where you can place sound objects around you and listen to them with spatial audio features. This app aims to create an interesting way for early music education to introduce children to composition and soundscaping. A secondary goal for us is for this to also serve a therapeutic purpose.

We spent much time narrowing down our focus and determining what technologies to use and what audience to target. We set up times to meet regularly every week and make expectations clear. We set up a Google Drive to share files and documentation discussed a workflow and divided up the work.

We hit the ground running and implemented many of our base features.

Place Mode

This week, we implemented functionality for placing sound objects in AR space. These sound objects are customizable and have spatial properties, getting louder as they get closer and softer as they get further. To hear the objects you must click on them. Each object also has custom meshes and textures.

Play Mode

There are also options to have the objects move in space by following the path traced by our cursor. The custom objects will follow the path outlined by tracing the cursor.

We also researched how to record audio in Unity and are working on storing it and assigning it to objects.

In the coming weeks, we will work on continuing to refine the UI and adding more features with more customizable objects and sounds.
